Start with the shape of your storage
A size list is useful when you know what to look for. A visual map can make a crowded folder easier to understand. DiskTrail offers eight views of the same scan, including Treemap, Folders, Sunburst and Top Sizes, so you can change perspective without changing the underlying inventory.
Investigate change before cleanup
When storage suddenly grows, compare a saved inventory with a later scan of the same location. Added items and size changes can provide a starting point. These inventories describe your files; they are not backup copies of their contents.
Keep the decision with you
DiskTrail reviews selected items before moving them to Trash and does not automatically empty Trash. Developer artifacts are grouped with project context. Review whether a folder can be rebuilt before removing dependencies or build output.
